On the road again Thanks to things such as advances in aviation and technology, the world is now a whole lot more connected than it has ever been before. Being based in Hong Kong means that we here at Perspective can get over to Taiwan, China or Korea at the drop of a hat and without too much pre-planning or hassle — and we love it. Indeed, many people now see themselves as global citizens, as their careers take them abroad multiple times per year, vacation options become more diverse and perhaps they are even living in a country outside their homeland. For this very reason, we are focusing on all things travel this month. We take a look at Sandibe Okavango Lodge in Botswana (page 54) and discover a superyacht masquerading as a traditional Indonesian phinisi (page 64). You can take a peek inside the new Eurostar business lounge in Paris Gare du Nord (page 67), and also revel in the beauty that is Amandayan in Lijiang, China (page 70). In our architecture section, we discover how technology and visualisation are playing pivotal roles in the development of the industry (page 32), while over on page 88, we chat with the recently-appointed executive director of Design Trust in Hong Kong, Marisa Yiu. AND in celebration of our 40 Under 40 Awards programme that will take place at The Annex later this month, we chatted with some prior winners about their most memorable travel experiences, be they heart-warming or hilarious!
