Designer Richard Smith looks to the ancient hand-crafted rugs of Tibet for one of Jim Thompson’s latest collections
 
Inspired by a 1990 exhibition at the Hayward Gallery in London titled "The Tiger Rugs of Tibet", Richard Smith spent years researching how to bring forth endless imagery beyond the animal skins of the original show. The result: ravishing patterns combined with striking geometric borders and quirky colour combinations of vegetable dyes.
