Join Savoir Beds, Steve Leung and Perspective on November 22 for the official launch and preview of a new product collaboration, the ‘Screen Bed’

This month, award-winning architect, interior and product designer Steve Leung will launch a new product in collaboration with sleep specialists from London, Savoir Beds. Leung’s new 'Screen Bed' draws inspiration from the vibrant Chinese history of artisanal furniture craftsmanship. The beautifully upholstered headboard design features operable dual-hinged side panels – referencing the ambience of antique Chinese folding screens, once commissioned and coveted by affluent connoisseurs of the world.

“I wanted to explore deeper into the Chinese history of artisans and craftsmanship, seeking an inspiration that could infuse a hint of heritage to my design," Steve said on this three-year long collaboration,” said Leung.

Designer Steve Leung visited the London Bedworks location earlier this year to observe the results of this three years of dedicated design and work. Seen here is a look behind the scenes of the production and craftsmanship that has gone into the ‘Screen Bed’ product collaboration.

The bed takes influences from the structural and decorative details present in Chinese Ming dynasty furniture. While the design is contemporary, it has been subtly imbued with a hint of heritage.
