Mario Trimarchi, Milan
Mario Trimarchi was born in Sicily. In the 1980s he moved to Milan, where he still lives and works. In the early 1990s, he was the director of the Master in Design course at the Domus Academy and later headed the DDA, a joint venture between the Domus Academy and Mitsubishi, alternating between long business trips to Japan with conferences, lectures and workshops in various countries throughout the world. In 1999 he founded Fragile, a corporate identity studio, where he continued his personal research on design. His objects are centred on the relationship between unstable geometries and sculpture and are almost always accompanied by drawings and illustrated stories. He designs for Alessi, creating unexpected products, including baskets and trays such as La Stanza dello Scirocco [which won Good Design 2010]. In 2014, he designed the Ossidiana coffee maker, winning the prestigious XXIV ADI Gold Compass Award and the Red Dot Award.
Founder, RUX Design, Co-founder, Stickbulb, New York
Russell Greenberg is the Creative Director of RUX and Stickbulb. His designs range from an award-winning mosque masterplan to water-purification systems, porcelain busts, vending machines, furniture and sustainable LED lighting systems. Greenberg founded RUX in 2008 as a platform to support his diverse interests. Over the following nine years he led the studio in developing new products and intellectual property for the likes of Unilever, Samsung, Mozilla Firefox and Pernod Ricard. In 2011, he shared his vision for a modular system of LED sticks made from reclaimed wood with the team at RUX, and in 2012 co-founded Stickbulb with Christopher Beardsley to further develop the designs. Prior to founding RUX, Russell founded the architecture department within Studio Dror, where he led the design of Nurai Island, an artificial-island resort in Abu Dhabi.
Designer & Director, Sacha Lakic Design, Luxembourg
Sacha Lakic was first exposed to fluidity, movement and organic shapes at his father's workshop. After working at Peugeot's Interior Design Department, Alain Carré design studio and Yamaha-owned MBK, Lakic branched out on his own in 1994 to open his own studio in the heart of Paris. Lakic is a designer who loves movement and speed and is capable of moving from one world of design to another with ease and effectiveness. In 2010, Lakic moved his design studio to Luxembourg where he also launched his motorcycle brand, Blacktrack Motors in 2016. Lakic has carried out many ambitious projects in automotive design, furniture (most notably with Roche Bobois), architecture and product design.
Founder & Principal, Teo Yang Studio, Seoul
Teo Yang graduated from Art Institute of Chicago in the year of 2004, after he attended Environmental Design form Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California. He started his career by working in many vibrant cities. Yang completed his internship with MTV Europe in Berlin, after which he moved to the Netherlands and had the opportunity to work for and learn from legendary designer Marcel Wanders. He eventually moved home to his beloved Seoul, participating in several design events, such as Gwangju Design Biennale, Seoul Design Olympiad, Seoul Design Week and more. Over the course of his career, Yang has worked on interior design projects all over South Korea. Since the opening of Teoyang Studio in 2009, Yang and his team have worked on various interior, furniture and product design products. The studio participated in several high-profile projects, and specialises in high-end residential and branding commercial projects.
