99-year-old appliance brand, KitchenAid, has opened first flagship in Hong Kong

KitchenAid, founded in 1919, has almost a century of history revolutionising the way of food is made and mixed. Most recently, the company announced its opening of the brand’s first flagship location in Hong Kong. Located in Lee Garden Three, Causeway Bay, the store officially opened on June 19 and was designed by former 40 Under 40 Award recipient, Danny Ng from 4N Design Architects.

The shop covers an area of approximately 2,000 sqf, the store showcases not only KitchenAid’s famous small appliances but also the brand’s recently launched range of major household appliances and a fully functioning demonstration kitchen. The kitchen offers customers the opportunity to experience the results KitchenAid appliances can produce. In addition, a super-sized version of the iconic KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer takes pride of place in the window of the store and the full spectrum of colour ways is available for purchase.

The KitchenAid story begins in 1908 when engineer Herbert Johnson observed a baker mixing his bread hard and wished to save his time and energy. Johnson then set out to develop an automatic mixer. In 1919, the world's first stand mixer was officially launched. In 1983, KitchenAid started developing large home appliances and over time, KitchenAid's kitchen appliance range has become a good hand for chefs and food preparers. For many years, it has been highly acclaimed by world-class dessert designers and baking fans including French chef Oliver Bajard and US cooking guru Julia Child.
