Kartell has unveiled six months’ preparation of ideas and initiatives for Expo Milano 2015

The design company is taking part in various events and initiatives for Expo Milano 2015, including the fitting of a restaurant in the Italy Pavilion

With its theme of 'Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life', Expo Milano 2015 is now underway until 31 October 2015 — and Kartell has been unveiling six months' preparation of ideas and initiatives as befits a remarkable occasion for Milan and for Italy to present the very best of a number of sectors and to promote the unique aspects of the individual brands that the international visitors may discover.

"Expo Milano 2015 is an exceptional opportunity that we all need to seize, together, to give a boost to both Milan's and Italy's industrial sectors," says Claudio Luti, president of Kartell, who was named ambassador for Expo Milano 2015 early this year.

Among its many projects, Kartell will be fitting out the Top restaurant in the Palazzo Italia, within Italy's Expo pavilion, with tables and chairs designed especially for the space. It will also be continuing its strong partnership with Eataly by furnishing the brand's restaurants within the Expo.

Additionally, Kartell is renewing its corporate museum at its Noviglio headquarters just outside Milan, completely restructuring and redesigning it with displays recounting the company's history and explaining its products, pointing out strategic moments that have marked the brand's growth and development.

"Just like 15 years ago when I wanted to create this special area inside the company, today I believe it is essential that we work to preserve and promote our company's history," says Luti, who was a judge at The Perspective Awards (now called the A&D Trophy Awards) in 2013.

"For Kartell, the museum is a priceless heritage; it is the custodian not only of objects that have played a role in our history, revolutionising the relationship between function and aesthetics in every period, but have played an important archiving and cataloguing role in recent years to save every little piece of history."
