Studio RYTE, a Hong Kong-based multi-disciplinary design practice, has designed a new collection of adaptive cat furniture, CATSSUP

Studio RYTE, is an energetic and innovative design studio comprised of agile and passionate inventors, architects, designers and engineers from Hong Kong. The studio’s founder and resident architect, Dennis Cheung, is a recipient of 2018′s 40 Under 40 Award, in the architecture category.

The newest product to be designed by the studio is Catssup, a cat friendly design solution for home spaces that utilises vertical space and existing furniture without sacrificing any existing home interiors or design.

The system takes up no floor space, instead utilising vertical space for cats to play

3The Catssup system utilises existing furniture to create virtual cat trees, unlocking vertical spaces for the cats without compromising the owners'. Instinctually, cats are more comfortable with heights. Unfortunately, many modern households and in particular, Hong Kong homes, are unable to provide vertical spaces due to limited interior space and the bulkiness of conventional cat trees.1Designed to be simple, intuitive and flexible, the adjustable C-clamp can fit onto any horizontal board, such as book shelves and tables. The Catssup also comes in three different colours to blend seamlessly into different interiors and spaces.

14The four products included in the Catssup series are:

  • Dot Step (circular Stepping platform)
  • Sleeping Pill (Cat Lounge)
  • Cloud Lounge (Cat Lounge)
  • Climbing Tower (Sisal Scratch Post) Space Ball (Pendant Toy Ball)

6To help bring the product into reality, Studio RYTE has launched a CATSSUP Kickstarter. The campaign is now live and available until September 7 with a number of discounts for early bird supporters. Studio RYTE previously launched the Butterply Desk, a modular furniture series, via Kickstarter with a pledge of 57,000 USD in 2016.
