AXOR develops, constructs and produces taps, shower-heads and accessories for luxurious bathrooms and kitchens. Part of the Hansgrohe Group, AXOR is known for its collaborations with the world’s best designers. Perspective gets to know the brand ahead of its 25th anniversary

AXOR develops, constructs and produces taps, shower-heads and accessories for luxurious bathrooms and kitchens. At the highest aesthetic and technological levels, avant-garde, one-of-a-kind pieces and collections are created. Some of them are considered classics of bathroom design to this day. Pace-setting design objects have been developed with AXOR for more than 25 years in collaboration with a number of the world’s most highly regarded designers. Among those are Philippe Starck, Antonio Citterio, Jean-Marie Massaud and Patricia Urquiola.

The AXOR Uno collection AXOR was introduced at ISH in Frankfurt in March of 2017. Created in collaboration with the Stuttgart-based Phoenix Design studio, the AXOR Uno pursues the design principles of the Purist movement with consistent construction: two precisely shaped cylinders joined together at a right angle.

The precise contours and the raised proportions in the golden ratio of the taps are their defining stylistic features, lending them a special aura and giving them a sleek and elegant look in any setting. Special surface finishes added radiance to the collection, which comprises over 70 products for washbasins, showers and bathtubs.

25 years of bathroom innovation
AXOR has been instrumental in shaping the evolution of the bathroom with the creation of avant-garde pieces and collections. One example is the AXOR Starck collection which introduced a new way of controlling the flow of water with its joystick handle. While the AXOR Citterio collection is a masterpiece of 1930s neoclassicism. The characteristic features of the taps are their angles, edges and distinctive flat surfaces, which reflect light perfectly. The AXOR Massaud collection sets new standards for a pristine water experience. Realised with the highest level of technical expertise, water flows like a natural waterfall from the sculptural tap that doubles as a shelf.

Perfect craftsmanship and functionality in the shower, the AXOR ShowerHeaven 1200 and AXOR 350, introduced in 2017, are an expression of a new dimension in showering

The uncompromising claim to perfection in design, craftsmanship and functionality is reflected, for example, in the resource-efficient AXOR Starck Organic collection. Thanks to a new spray mode, it offers an innovative solution for the responsible use of water while generously enveloping the skin. The pinnacle of the AXOR taps, AXOR Starck V, shines with a movable and detachable spout made of organic crystal glass or porcelain. A choice of elegant glass cut varieties introduced in 2015 makes it easy to exchange a spout if needed. Perfect craftsmanship and functionality in the shower, too: the AXOR ShowerHeaven 1200 and AXOR 350 overhead showers, introduced in 2017, are an expression of a new dimension in showering. An unprecedented shower spray gently envelopes the skin, completing the luxurious shower experience.
