A sustainable office setting begins with a well-planned space which ties in with the company's identity. All too often, however, while clients ask designers to focus on lighting and spatial set-ups for improved ergonomics and working efficiency, the floor is — pardon the pun — entirely overlooked. Enter Tai Ping Carpets. Already well known for its vast range for the home, its new division, Tai Ping Contract, was launched specifically to offer the same quality of style and design for office environments and retail spaces. For more than half a century, home-grown carpet brand Tai Ping has championed the highend residential market with its finest designs and high-quality natural materials. As the brand is now making its mark at international level, diversifying its product range was a logical step. "On one occasion when I was meeting a client in the US, he was struggling to find a carpet tile with a nice design which would fit the setting of an executive office space," says Phil Decker, Vice President of Sales, Commercial and Contract for America, who joined the company two years ago.
