deTour, Hong Kong's annual art and design festival, themed "Connection" this year, will take off on November 27
Connecting with Business of Design Week and other local design and technology projects, deTour aims to open new landscapes for creative industries in order to fabricate opportunities for new social innovations. This year, from Novermber 27 to December 6, it will showcase the diversity of local design and exhibit its contribution to Hong Kong's economy through the integration of design, culture and technology through an abundance of interactive activities.
The Poverty Line installation is an inspiring collaboration between photographer Stefen Chow and respected economist Hui-Yi Lin exploring what poverty means in different countries.
The LEGO Builder is a Pop-up exhibition with a variety of amazing LEGO artworks and LEGO building materials, placing visitors into the LEGO workroom for a brief taste of the life of a LEGO builder.
The Urban Symphony installation by Alen Ng is created from pipes to harmonise different sounds heard in everyone's daily lives. The installation allows guests to interpret sounds and hear a different perspective of the city.
At the Porcelain Christmas Workshop, local-based ceramics artist Jakie Leung and ZHEN, the leading platform in China for contemporary ceramic art and design, will teach participants how to use molding techniques, along with cutting and painting skills, to create ceramic Christmas ornaments in an assortment of shapes and sizes.
