Aperture #5 – The Seasons, one of the events in the Andante 10+TEN exhibition series, will be held on December 16. It will combine visual art and music: Contemporary painting by artist Michael Lam and pianist An Na’s classical piano recital on a Fazioli, creating a salon of visual and audio art
Michael Lam has been interested in painting from a very early age. He works in a variety of media – Oil and lacquer on canvas and pencil on paper. His painting style is abstract and surrealist using colours to interpret words and emotions, and view images as the tracks of life. When he taught body art in a make-up school, his body painting works appeared in many events. Michael’s pieces have been nominated and received a selection of awards, and his works are extremely popular among local and international collectors from countries like Singapore, France, United Kingdom, Japan, China, Los Angeles and Australia.
In Aperture #5 – The Seasons, Michael has created a series of twelve paintings. The paintings are of landscapes and illusionary moods in Western abstract form but with an Asian twist.
An Na is a concert pianist, and was the first prize winner of the sixth New York International Piano Competition. She obtained a piano diploma in New York, and also a master’s degree in piano performance in St. Petersbourg. She passed various state level examinations and has been awarded the titles of Concert Artist, Chamber Ensemble Artist, Vocal Accompanist and Pedagogue.
An Na will also create a piano recital according to her feelings about the paintings in the exhibition.
The event will be officially opened by Miss Paolo Guida, the Trade Commissioner of Italy. An opening remark will be given at 7pm, followed by Michael and An Na's sharing of their inspirations.
