2016 marks the 10th anniversary of Perspective’s 40 Under 40 Awards, recognising rising young design stars from across Asia and beyond

Over the past nine years, the 40 Under 40 programme has been the platform for many designers who have gone on to be leaders in their field, such as Ma Yansong, Andre Fu, Barrie Ho, Bjarke Ingels, Zhao Yang, Sou Fujimoto, Cecile Yau, Colin Seah, Tex Saverio, Henry Chu and Johanna Ho.

In 2016, nominations have started pouring in from young talents across the globe in the fields of – art, architecture, interiors, graphic/new media, products, and fashion/accessories. This year, rather than having to be nominated by someone else, people are also encouraged to submit their portfolios directly.

"Every year since 2007, 40 rising talents are chosen based on the nominee's professional achievements, contributions to the industry, and potential for future development and growth," says Suzanne Miao, Perspective's editorial director. Consideration is also given to any awards won, participation in industry events at a speaker, panellist, or judge level (where applicable), and contributions to society.

With the award ceremony set to take place in May, Miao continues, "This year, we celebrate an incredible 10 years of spotting and celebrating the architecture and design industries' best and most promising young stars — our track record in this area speaks for itself."

As diamond sponsor of the event, HKT Premier provides selected customers with a wide range of tailor-made one-stop solutions to meet their needs, delivering an exclusive first-class experience. The collaboration between Perspective's 40 Under 40 Awards and HKT Premier symbolises the perfect synergy between a prestigious event and a renowned brand, both aiming to bring about a more profound aesthetic appreciation to today's modern lifestyle.
