The hotel is the brand’s seventh in China, and is situated on the lower stretches of the Yangzi River in a city that is full of historical heritage and is regarded as an up-and-coming university town. It features 158 luxurious guestrooms, including 15 suites and an expansive Presidential Suite which captures the rich history of the surrounding area. Led by I.M. Pei Architects with HBA Interior Design, the design of the hotel draws inspiration from the Ming-dynasty, a time when Nanjing was the nations’s capital.
To evoke the feeling of a residential, noble home, an extensive art collection has been incorporated into the interiors along with handcrafted textiles and opulent chinaware. An impressive library of over 3000 books on local history and culture offers guests a unique opportunity to learn about the region in an impeccably designed space. Other features of the hotel include a tea lounge, a range of restaurants, fitness areas and a swimming pool.
