GeoID, a multifaceted brand development company finishes its redesign of Istanbul’s W Hotel in Turkey

The W Hotel is located in the historic centre of Akaretler, a place rich in Istanbul's cultural elements such as art galleries and cafes. Here, the hotel attains a harmonious balance between luxury and history, compromising a rich and chic atmosphere yet maintaining the W Hotel's contemporary brand identity.

The W Hotel in Istanbul comprises 140 guest rooms and suites.  Tuğçe Rizeli co-founder of GeoID and international architect directed this project under the original design of the hotel, which was based on Ottoman culture. With respect, GeoID decided to perpetuate that concept and heighten emphasis of the Ottoman style throughout the hotel.  A modern twist is shown in every minor detail of the renovation and design portraying the eclectic style corresponding to this rich historical period.

GeoID topped the design off with collaborations with French lighting Designer, Thierry Dreyfus. Together they created The Tunnel, a luminous installation getting direct attention at the entrance of the hotel.  Striking as it is, the design of the tunnel emulates a jewellery box bringing a bright and cool touch to visitors, which aligns with W Hotel's design-led lifestyle hotel experience.
