Kohler’s latest Numi toilet is eco-friendly – and expensive
To celebrate the launch of their latest toilet, Numi, Kohler recently held a launch party at the swanky American Club in Exchange Square. As a first-time toilet launch attendee, I had no idea what to expect, but was definitely curious. The amazing turnout proved that there were many others intrigued by the sleek, angular Numi, possibly because of its hefty price tag: HK$78,000.
Drinks and canapés aside, guests crowded around the Numi as Kohler staff demonstrated its various functions: an auto, hands-free open-and-close lid; sensors that raise and lower the seat according to the user’s height; seat and feet-warming functions; a self-adjusting bidet; an ultraviolet disinfecting function and deodorising charcoal filter; built-in speakers that play music and FM radio; and an LCD touch-screen to control it all. Numi is also WaterSense-certified, which means that it is water-saving with its dual-flush technology — either 0.6 or 1.28 gallons per flush.
I’m not sure if I ever expected so much of a toilet, but if I had a Numi, it would probably make me feel the same as taking a long shower – I’d never want to leave the bathroom. |
