The design of the Top Towers was, from the start, influenced by a wish to challenge mainstream Brazilian commercial architecture. "Conceptually, the Top Towers aim to reference, albeit in a contemporary and renovated way, the playful modulated facades of so many of Sao Paulo's buildings from the 40's, 50's, and 60s that still stand in the city's downtown."- Jorge Konigsberger, project leader . On the exterior empty concave spaces are distributed accross the facade, as though some of the units had been removed on some of the floors, not only giving an appealing indoor/outdoor twist to the halls on these floors, but also enhancing the overall formal complexity of the buildings. The relative positions of the building also contribute to the Top Towers' visual interest. Top Towers' look totally different depending on the point from which they are viewed; from the south, they appear as two independent volumes while from the north they are fused together. ...Collapse - Keywords
