A heavy-steel structure manufacturer invited our design team to design a pavilion with a tight budget, to replace a fish pond within an existing workshop landscaping area situated in Dongguan, China. Rather than remove existing fish pond, the pond is integrated with the newly made sculptural pavilion rejecting to the traditional Chinese roof kiosk. Constructed with steel structure provided by client, the pavilion comprises 6 columns, 1 wall, 1 ceiling & 1 bench. It was furnished with local grey tile and wooden deck against white factory building creating a strong focal point to the space. By making use of subtle dark brown wooden deck ceiling & flooring, grey tile wall, columns & bench, it creates a harmonious atmosphere with the white workshop building as well as green surrounding environments and colourful fishes inside fish pond. ...Collapse
