Phuket’s new mixed-use development MontAzure has revealed designs for The Residences

Located near Kamala beach, Phuket, The Residences at MontAzure offer sea views and a backdrop of tropical forest hillside. Conceived by Martin Palleros, the style blends tropical architecture with site-sensitive landscaping, creating contemporary homes. The development is a joint venture between subsidiaries of The Narai Group (Thailand), Arch Capital (Hong Kong) and Philean Capital (Singapore).

Materials used in the project include exposed concrete and timber, with the natural textures reflecting the relaxed environment of the entire development. The timber used on the vertical cladding echoes the traditional fisherman’s houses of Phuket, with intricate exterior detailing adding a sense of refinement. The landscape design incorporates dense coastal trees and plantings, interwoven with a range of more tropical offerings.

The development includes 57 one and two-bedroom units, along with gym facilities, cafe, library and spa pavilion. Grouped as a series of low-rise clusters, The Residences are situated around one of two communal swimming pools. Each unit includes tall windows and wide balconies to maximise views, with interior spaces planned to offer a combination of openness and privacy. They are scheduled for completion in 2017.
