The Armani Group and Smart Hero Group have announced their partnership for Smart Hero-Central Park Plaza Residences in Beijing, China

The luxurious, high-end residential units are located in Beijing’s CBD, facing the south gate of Chaoyang Park. The residences will be the leading green building complex in China, having been designed by leading architect Mr Ma Yansong. Both eastern and western design philosophies have been incorporated into the project, with a special influence being placed on the Chinese idea of ‘Nature and Man in One’. With this in mind, the design of the complex has mirrored elements from the surrounding park, with the exterior featuring a number of curves and slopes, alluding to the natural landscape.

Scheduled for completion in 2017, the project was selected as one of the 'Top 10 Contemporary Buildings in China' in 2014, as recommended by China's Ministry of Culture together with senior architectural firms. Regarding the collaboration, Giorgio Armani says, 'I am very pleased to be collaborating on this new development in Beijing, as I believe the city is one of the world's most exciting modern metropolises. Furthermore, the Chinese concept of "Nature and Man in One" fits perfectly with the aesthetic philosophy I have developed for Armani/Casa, which always aspires to create a sense of harmony in the living spaces I imagine, and always aims to respect the natural world. A sensitive combination of man-made aesthetics with natural materials and forms is, for me, a form of genuine contemporary luxury.'
