Perspective is excited to announce Steve Leung from Steve Leung Designers (SLD) as the winner of The Pinnacle Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2016

Internationally renowned designer Steve Leung will be celebrated on 9 November at the Gala Event of the A&D Trophy Awards 2016 as he receives The Pinnacle Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Born in Hong Kong in 1957, architect, interior and product designer Steve Leung is a dedicated contemporary-style advocate. His works reflect a sophisticated and unique character of minimalism, with skillful adoption of Asian culture and arts.

Leung set up his own architectural and urban planning consultancy in 1987, restructuring into Steve Leung Architects (SLA) and Steve Leung Designers (SLD) a decade later.

Headquartered in Hong Kong and has four branch offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu, SLD has more than 400 staff working on projects in more than 100 cities all over the world.

Living up to the spirit of his motto — 'Design without limits' — Leung has gone on to launch three additional brands in the past two years: Steve Leung Hospitality (SLH), Steve Leung Exchange (SLX) and Steve Leung Lifestyle (SLL), each offering specialist design and diversified services.

Earlier, in 2007, he established the lifestyle brand 1957 & Co., extending his entrepreneurial footprint. With 11 restaurants representing six brands, 1957 & Co. puts into practice Leung's personal philosophy ('enjoy life, enjoy design').

Leung's body of work extends across Hong Kong, China, and internationally, encompassing notable projects such as yoo residence and 39 Conduit Road in Hong Kong; Sing Yin at W Hong Kong; Shangri-la Hotel at The Shard, London; and Yuan at Atlantis The Palm Dubai.

Leung and his team have been credited with more than 130 design and corporate awards in Asia- Pacific and beyond, from the Perspective Awards (now the A&D Trophy Awards), Asia Pacific Property Awards, Commercial Interior Design Awards, FX International Interior Design Awards and IIDA Annual Interior Design Competition, to the Interior Design Best of Year Awards, Gold Key Awards and the US Hospitality Design Awards.

He has also collaborated with numerous international brands, including HC28, Hunter Douglas, Former, Saga Furs, Neutra, Graham and Brown, Visionnaire and Villeroy & Boch.

Deeply involved with the architecture and design industry community, Leung has and continued to serve in many capacities — as president-elect in 2015-2017 and president in 2017-2019 of International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI); and adjunct professor at HKU SPACE, for example. In 2014, he joined hands with interior designers from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to establish C Foundation, promoting education and development within the design industry.

Tickets to the event ares still available here.
