40 Under 40 Awards 2019 - What's new?

The deadline for Perspective's annual 40 Under 40 Awards 2019 has been extended! Plus there’s now added benefits for entrants and even more reasons to enter

Now in its 13th consecutive year, Perspective's 40 Under 40 Awards are back, with the nomination process in full swing. The awards recognise 40 young design talents from the fields of art, architecture, interior design and product design. Nominations are now open. You can nominate yourself, or someone else, for contributions within the chosen field. And there's good news for those still hoping to enter: the nomination period for the awards has been extended until March 10.

Once again, this year's event will be held at The Annex event space in Central, on May 28. Not only a great celebration, the evening is a platform to rub shoulders with the industry's finest. Last year's event was attended by more than 200 industry professionals and drew acclaimed architects and designers, sponsors and property developers.

Following the success of previous years, a design forum and Q&A session will be held prior to the awards ceremony. Last year's topic, 'Harbouring ambitions: Shaping the future of Hong Kong's Waterfront', sparked plenty of lively debate, with some 100 participants. This year's topic will focus on the subject of heritage and revitalisation. With multiple projects opening across Hong Kong in recent months, such as Tai Kwun in Central and The Mills in Tsuen Wan, Perspective will invite a number of high-profile professionals to discuss the topic. Stay tuned for more details about the speakers.

NEW PERKS FOR NOMINEES

For this year's edition, Perspective has partnered with the HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair (which returns in April). The fair presents a wealth of opportunities for leading suppliers to connect with buyers from across the world. As part of the event, a VIP tour and networking reception will take place. This year, Perspective will give all 40 Under 40 2019 entrants a chance to come along and mingle with other industry figures.

The event will be held on the evening of Saturday, April 20, and will include an awards presentation for the Hong Kong Smart Design Awards 2019 (Home & Houseware Category) organised by The Hong Kong Exporters' Association. This giveaway is exclusive to 40 Under 40 Award 2019 entrants and nominees. Details of the tour will be available after the nomination period has ended.

In addition to this exclusive networking opportunity, Perspective will also be sponsoring two lucky winners to attend the HKTDC-organised SmartHK Guangzhou Tour and the HKCIB Kunming Tour. Both tours will take place in August 2019, and offer great opportunities to learn, network and gain insight into manufacturing and trade processes.

SmartHK Guangzhou Tour

HKCIB Kunming Tour

The winners will be drawn on the night of May 28.
